2019 Horticulture Therapy Programs.

posted Apr 15, 2019, 7:56 AM by Frank Holzman
The focus this year is on horticulture therapy. I am working on barrier free gardens for disabled adults. The first is at Enable Center in Red Oak near the Atlanta airport. This consists of boxes up off the ground tall enough to suit wheel chairs along with a bed for ambulatory gardeners. The second is a roof top garden at the residence building at the Veterans Administration center in Decatur, GA. Here I am working with disabled veterans in boxes designed for wheel chair access. I am working with one individual that is a quadruple amputee. I figure if he can garden, anybody can. The idea is to allow this community to connect with nature through gardening. Healing land heals us is the general concept.
